24 October 2016, the EBRD headquarters in London hosted ‘Outlook on Belarus 2016’ conference for business representatives. The meeting was organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and business portal Emerging Europe in the framework of the ‘Emerging Europe Outlook on Belarus 2016’ project.
The main aim of the project is to get the attention of the US and European business communities to the advantages of working with Belarusian companies, and to support building of solid business relationships. SolbegSoft is a part of the ‘Emerging Europe Outlook on Belarus 2016’ project aspiring to raise awareness and educate the European and US business communities about the business growth opportunities Belarusian IT companies offer.
Within the project, Emerging Europe has been discussing extensively the investment and trade environment in Belarus. All key stakeholders related to doing business in the country were involved in the conversation: international financial institutions, Belarusian government representatives, EU representatives, foreign investors present in the country, Belarusian companies, specialized media and business associations.
24 October, the conversation was brought to real-life situation during the EBRD-Emerging Europe Outlook on Belarus conference. The event brought together policymakers, investors and prominent business people from the UK, Belarus and beyond to discuss the economic outlook on Belarus and explore investment opportunities in the country.
The conference provided an insightful experience into the growing investment potential that Belarus provides. Emerging Europe presented analytical report highlighting the business climate, economic situation and business opportunities in the country. A special sub-section in the report is devoted to the IT industry being the third largest sector in the country, featuring blooming Belarusian IT companies including SolbegSoft.
The event exposed the sustainable potential of Belarusian market, and pointed up the solid environment for building effective business relationships it provides.
From an outsourcing perspective, Belarus primary service proposition is in internet technology outsourcing (ITO), with computer and IT services. This year, Belarus was shortlisted as a top outsourcing destination of 2016, by the UK-based Global Sourcing Association (GSA). The country was also included in the Top 30 Locations for Offshore Services by Gartner. This proves that Belarus has a great potential to becoming a leading IT outsourcing destination.
